Achievements

Ø  Contracted to Johnson Service Group to stabilise the existing Citrix Presentation Server 3 farm which was prone to server crashes and printing problems. Resolved the issues causing the instabilities and standardised the build of the servers to ensure ongoing satisfactory performance of the farm.

Ø   Primary technical lead in the specification and design of the new De Vere Group PLC infrastructure. Final solution based on a Citrix terminal server platform running on HP Blade servers. With centralisation of many core business products including the Microsoft Office 2003 suite to support 3000+ users.

Ø   Installed, implemented and support the final and current infrastructure for Citrix Presentation Server 4, Windows Server 2003 Active Directory, Exchange 2003 and a suite of 40+ applications.

Ø   Implemented a highly redundant back end data storage infrastructure comprising of 2 HP Storage Area Networks replicating across two separate locations.

Ø   Implemented the new Central Reservations Call Centre function, comprising of VoIP call distribution system and Centralised booking system with real time links to all properties and on-line booking system. Resulting systems increased web bookings by 1400% over a 6 month period.

Ø   Joined two separate IT infrastructures as De Vere Group PLC became part of the Alternative Hotel Group. Involving a joining of two Wide Area Networks, two Windows 2003 Active Directories and presenting a single GAL for two separate Exchange 2003 organisations.

Ø   Upgraded the centralised Sales Automation and Group Management system with real time links to all properties. This also involved the combining of two separate environments as Verve Venues hotels were merged with De Vere hotels.

Ø   Successfully implemented three wide area network upgrades over a period of 5 years each time reducing costs and improving throughput and reliability. Ultimately evolving into a final solution of MPLS primary links with ADSL backup.

Ø   Successfully implemented two office moves, the last one involving migrating WAN head end connections, maintaining 2 Office LANs with an interconnect between them and moving 200 user PC’s, plus a server environment comprising of 30+ servers.

Ø   Initial installation of an NT4 and Exchange 5.5 infrastructure environment to support 27 sites around the UK. Maintaining this environment through the growth of the company to ultimately support 50 sites around the UK.
